The 424 MKII Preamp takes it’s inspiration from the raw and grimy distortion texture and broad EQ control from a classic cassette 4-track recorder preamp.
We’ve expanded the versatility of this circuit by adding a bypassable buffer that drastically changes the gain and character of the pedal.  This helps the pedal play well with high-impedance guitar signal, making it capable of all kinds of sounds…clean boosting with subtle EQ, a treble boost, warm and dark textures, and all-out chaotic grind. Bypass the buffer hear the faithful recreation of the sound of plugging an electric guitar directly into the original.
